Budge was in devastating form, and Austin, despite his pluck and reSource’, was often unable to get within yards of Budge’s whizzing -drives. Budge won' 14 games' on end, till Austin broke through the American’s service in the third set. Women’s doubles; semi-finals: Mathieu and Yorke defeated Andrus and Henrotin' 3/6, 6/3, 6/4. Fa'byan and Marble defeated Heinemill'er and Morphew 7/5, 6/4. v Men’s doubles, semi-final: Henkel and Metaxa defeated Kukuljevite and Pallada 7/5, 6/2,. 6/4. . . Mixed doubles, semi-finals: Budge and Marble defeated Shayes - ’ and Saunders 6/4, 6/2. Henkel and Fabyan defeated Russell and James 6/3, 1/6, 6/3. ....
