The Dominion’s six year, 2. per cent. 140 million dollar loan was oversubscribed in the first half hour. ’ SOCIAL CREDIT OTTAWA, May 18. • In the Senate, the Opposition Leader (Mr. Arthur Meighen) demanded that the Dominion exert authority in the provinces to meet the crisis threatening the disintegration of the Dominion. Provincial legislation, even if constitutional, can be disallowed in favour of the public good. Repudiation wap rampant in the prairies, centring in Edmonton. As a result, industry was paralysed because none was willing to invest money, particularly in Alberta, under a Social Credit Government.
