AUCKLAND TRIAL MATCH. [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, May 18. The League football trial played at Carlaw Park this afternoon between Auckland and the rest of the North Island, proved very one-sided, Auckland winning by 67 to 14. The match was disappointing to tho selectors, who were looking for talent for the inter-island gamse next Saturday; also for possibilities for the New Zealand team which is to tour Australia this year.

NORTH ISLAND TEAM. AUCKLAND, May 18. The following team has been selected to represent the North Island against the South Island in the annual Rugby League football match at Auckland on Saturday, all being Aucklanders with the exception of Cootes (Wellington): —Pull-back, J. Brodrick, 11. Tetley. 1 NANG AH UA CENTRE. At the weekly meeting of the Inangahua Rugby League Centre on Tuesday evening, it was decided to forward congratulations to Messrs P. Scott, G. Orman and N. Orsbourn on their selection in the South Island team. The Secretary’s action in instructing the Inangahua delegate to support the motion to have replacements in tho Inter-Island match was approved, as were also recommendations forwarded to the New Zealand League as the result of a conference held in Christchurch last week-end.
