WEDDING

ELLIS—PETRIE. The wedding was celebrated recently at St. Peter’s Church, Upper _ Riccarton, of Doris, youngest daugh-. ter of the late Mr and Mrs Joseph, Petrie Greymouth, to Mr Joseph; Murray Ellis, of Wellington. The, bride is well known on the At est Coast, where her father was for many years editor of the Greymouth “Evening Star.” The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon York, Lrcther-in-law of the bride- The bride was escorted by the Rev. H. T. York. She wore a pastel-blue crepe-de-chine model frock patterned with posies of flowers, and three handmade flowers trimmed the cowled bodice at the throat in front. A shoulder cape was of matching ma-1 ferial, and her hat of navy blue straw , was trimmed' with ruche,d bands of white, pale blue, and jade ribbon. An | effective contrast was introduced by her bouquet of yellow-shaded flowers. Miss Agnes Petrie (Hunterville), cousin of the bride, wore a navy blue crepe-de-chine frock piped with white, and touches of white relieved her navy blue Breton hat. Iler bouquet was of red flowers. Mr W. T. Trethewey was best man. At the reception held at Warner's Hotel, Airs IL T. York received the guests for the hostess, Mrs William Wilson (Hokitika), who was unable to attend. Mrs York wore a nut brown | ensemble and a matching hat, and Airs V. A. Huddlestone (Auckland), the bride’s cousin, wore a brown I tailored suit and brown felt hat. For travelling the bride wore a ciel blue angcralaine frock with navy and white accessories, and a navy Wallis hat. All- and Airs Ellis will five in AVel- I liiigton.
