Haile Selassie sent a .cheque for ,£454, in settlement of Abyssinia’s arrears to the League of Nations, in a hope to forestall the attempt to challenge Abyssinia’s right to membership. The secretary refrained from registering acceptance, pending a study of the situation. NAZIS AND JEWS VIENNA, April 29. The Nazis are collecting Jewish and Catholic clerical books from public and private libraries in Salzberg. They will be publicly burnt in the central square to-morrow. Only two per cent, of Jews will henceforth be allowed to attend the State schools. BRITAIN AND EIRE. DUBLIN, April 29. The Dail passed the Anglo-Eire Agreement, the sole dissentient being the Labour member, Mr James Larkin.
