EMPIRE GAMES

JUDGES AND TEAMS. t PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. April 29. The Canadian proposal that Empire Games countries should send judges as component parts of their teams, is one of tbe matters discussed by the manager of the New Zealand team for games at Sydney in February, Mr. H. McCormick, in his report, to the New Zealand Olympic British Empire Games Association. The report was read at the annual meeting of the Association in Wellington. Reporting on the conference during the games of the Empire Games Federation. Mr McCormick states: “On the proposal of Canada il was agreed that England and the Dominions should endeavour to send judges for diving, wrestling and boxing, and that these officials should be component parts of the team. This is a matter that calls for careful consideration. While strongly deprecating some of the attacks that were made on some of the officials at the Games, I feel it is desirable that judges for the above events should bo drawn from as wide an area as possible. Any possible suggestion of favouritism or lack of competency on the part of the judges will thus very largely be obviated.
