WEST COAST ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Executive of the West Coast Basketball Association was held last evening, Miss M. E. Ray presiding. Also present were Misses M. Tennent, M. Hill, M. Williams. M. Paterson, E. A. Rohloff, and E. V. Rohloff (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Miss P. Kerins. A total of twenty-four entries was received for competitions commencing on Saturday next. Teams were graded as follow: — A. Grade: Runanga A. Runanga B.; Tech. O.G. A, Tech O.G. B; Convent O.G. A, Convent O.G. B; Woolworth’s: Blaketown. B. Grade: Cobden Convent 0.G., Technical A., B. and C„ United A. and bT; Paroa, Taylorville, Rovers, St. Marv’s A. and 8., Runanga C., Tech. O.G.’C., Convent O.G. C. and D. Correspondence included a circular from the Buller Association advising the presentation of a cup for competition in the Seddon Shield districts, the competition to be held this year at Westport. It was decided to inform Buller that a West? Coast team would probably participate in this year’s 1 tournament, but, owing to financial and other reasons, the Association doubted its ability to challenge teams in districts beyond Buller. At the conclusion of the Executive meeting, a meeting of club delegates was held to discuss the question of augmenting the Association funds. A Queen Carnival was decided upon. Clubs were grouped as follows, each group to elect a queen: Runanga, Paioa. and Tavlorville; Woolworth’s, Truman’s and United and Rovers; Convent 0.G., St. Mary’s and Cobden Convent 0.G.. Tech. 0.G., Blaketown and Technical.
