There was a fatal sequel to a fire in a photographer’s studio in Coventry, where a bridal party were being photographed. The fire was caused through a bridesmaid's' dress catching alight from an electric fine. Two of the bridesmaids 1 have died, and the bride and two other bridesmaids are in hospital, suffering from burns and shock. The 1 bridegroom, the best man, and the photographer were burnt on the hands' and received shock. ASHBURTON FACTORY. ASHBURTON, April 25. Damage estimated at £ll,OOO was caused by fire which completely destroyed the Tekau Knitwear factory at Ashburton early on Sunday morning. The factory, which was owned by Mr F. M. Mclntosh, was a wooden building situated at the corner of Cox Street and Alien’s Road, and it was heavily stocked with yarn and manufactured goods. Besides the loss of valuable machinery, its destruiCtion will -throw between 35 and 45 girls out of work.

The origin of the fire is not known, as the factory was closed’ down at 5 p.m. on Friday, but it is thought that the outbreak began in the boilerhouse at the back of the building. The plant and machinery were insured for about £5224, the stock for £4,000, and the building for £9OO, all the anee Company.
