WAGES IN BRITAIN
MARKED RISE LAST YEAR. [BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.] ’rugby, April' 20. The Ministry of Labour Survey shows that during 1937, there was a marked rise in the general wage rates. The number of workers whose wages increased, and the total amount of the increase, were greater than in any year since 1920. In all industries, including agriculture, the average level isi estimated to have risen by over four per cent.
