Severe frosts following unseasonable warmth in Northern Europe created havoc in British orchards, where growers fear the worst season for years. They were also experienced in France where damage to the vineyards is estimated at £6,000,000. Many growers are faced with ruin. It is anticipated that 150,000,000 fewer gallons of wine will he produced.
