NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP. [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON N„ April 18. In the North Island amateur golf championship semi-finals, J. P. Hornabrook (Manawatu) beat J. P. Mortland (Taihape), .3 and 2, and P. G. F. Smith (Akarana) beat A. R. Kitto (Wanganui) at the nineteenth. In the final of the Manawatu Easter championship K. Glendinning beat W. G. Clark (Levin), 2 and 1. Southland championships. INVERCARGILL, April IS. The Southland provincial golf championship tournament was concluded on j;he Invercargill Golf Club’si course at Otatara in brilliant weather to-day, the course being hard and: fast. The championship of Southland was won by H. W. Rogers (Invercargill) k 4 and 2 in the final. The winner of the Southland' Plate was F. E. Holdgate-(lnvercargill); and the junior championship was won by R. H. Scott (Lumsden). OTAGO TITLE. DUNEDIN, April 18. In the final of “the Otago amateur golf championship this afternoon, J. E. Matheson beat D. A. Ferguson 2 and 1.
