HEART OPERATIONS
GIRL’S PARENTS AT HOSPITAL LONDON, March 3. Heart-scraping, one -of the most intricate operations known to surgical science, was carried, out successfully at the West London Hospital yesterday on nine-year-old' Kathleen Munger, of Chiswick. After she had spent a considerable time in an..oxygen, tent, and both her parents h-adi contributed! blood for transfusions, it was stated, at the hospital lasit.night that the girl had every chance of complete recovery. “Mean. s.erapiug” is. an extremely rare operation, and; has. been likened to decarbonising a motor-car. It becomes ne-cesisa.yy owing to the sac in which the heart reposes gradually becoming hardened with calcium, which in time would stifle, beating.
