Stewart, of Dunedin, win the third New Zealand Grand Prix motor cycle race at Gust to-day. H. Munro,-of’ .Invercargill, was second; L. Lamb, of- Dunedin third; R. Alexander, of Christchurch fourth. Stewart covered, the course which 'was one of 1521 miles, at an average speed of 64.9 miles per hour. His- greatest speed was 103 miles hourly. B. Ros■sen- (Dunedin)-led! for fourteen' laps, hut then retired through engine trouble. P. Clarkson, of Auckland. Bengali the final lap with 12 miles of a lead, but he ran out of petrol. He refilled from a. machine at-the side of the track,, and finished' fourth, but was disqualified for not filling at the' official station. The times table: — Stewart (499 c.c. SYDNEY, April IS. - What is described as the first Australian Grand Prix motor race of 150miles on a special track of four and a half miles co the lap at. Bathurst, attracted 42 crack, drivers. The race -was won by air Englishman, Peter Whitehead, who at one stage made an average speed of 130 miles an hour.
