[PEB PBEOO AOOOOIATIOR.J BODY IN HARBOUR. WELLINGTON, February 12. The fully-clothed body of a. man was found at the Wharves, to-day. It appeared to have been in the water for about a month. Identity has not been established. CLERICAL -WORKERS. WELLINGTON, February 11. An agreement on minor matters only, was reached in the Conciliation Council in the proceedings' for a Dominion award on hehalf of the clerical workers, and hours and wages and other major matters were referred to the Court of Arbitration.

BODY RECOVERED

NEW PLYMOUTH, February 11

The body of Reginald Davis, aged 18, who was drowned in the' New Plymouth harbour when a canvas canoe in which he and three other young men were cruising capsized on Tuesday night, was recovered this morning. A Harbour Board watchman saw the body floating close to the shore. An inquest for identification was held this afternoon.

BOY DROWNED

DUNEDIN, February 12

Albert George Tuffley, aged six years, was drowned in the Cromwell baths. The boy was playing with his brother and sister, and was climbing the high-diving board, when he fell into deep water. The children ran borne for assistance. The body was later recovered The boy’s father only arrived from Invercargill, on Thursday, on transfer to the Public Works Department.

SERIOUS CHARGE. DUNEDIN. February 11

The hearing of charges against Thomas Auchterlonie Kerr, arising out of incidents which allegedly occurred at. East Taieri on November 9, was concluded in the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Kennedy to-day. A jury found Kerr guilty of assault, on a girl aged 15. with intent, to commit rape. This was the second of five charges brought against the accused. Kerr was remanded uutil to-morrow for sentence. FRUIT IMPORTS. WELLINGTON, February 11. Confirmation of the report that, the scheme being formulated for the control and internal marketing of New Zealand fruit, also involves control over fruit, importations, was forthcoming from the Minister of Marketing (Hon. W. Nash), in an. interview today. All bananas and oranges required for Dominion use, he said, will be imported and, distributed through the usual trade channels. Questioned whether this involved, importation by the Government, Mr Nash said that he could not give any information at present because the growers were now discussing with the merchants the procedure to follow. “They are working it out,” he said.
