RUGBY FOOTBALL
SPRINGBOKS’ THANKS The secretary of the West Coast Rugby Union (Mr. O. McLean.) has received advice from the New Zealand Rugby Union, that the following resolution was passed unanimously at a recent, general meeting of the South African Rugby Football Board: — “That the members of the South African Rugby Football Board, assembled at a general meeting at Cape Town, desire to express to the New Zealand Rugby Union their warm appreciation and cordial thanks for the excellent arrangements made and the generous reception given to the South African Rugby Springboks during their recent tour of the Dominion of New Zealand: and request that the thanks of this Board may be conveyed also to the Dominion Government, municipal bodies. railways administration, and the public generally, for their hospitality and kind co-operation in arranging for the comfort of the team, which so largely contributed to the success of .the tour and the pleasure of the visit.’’ WAIKATO COLOURS The New Zealand Rugby Union has advised that the following colours have been registered by the XX aikato Rugby Union: —A three-inch black band, alternated with quarter-inch yellow’ and red bands.
