HIT KING’S CAR

EMBARRASSED MOTORIST

LONDON, December 24

London's most embarrassed man was a motorist who was driving a small saloon car in Trafalgar Square when he collided v/ith a large car in which he saw the King and- Queen. The King looked out to see what had happened, and the Queen unperturbcdly glanced over his shoulder. Except for the removal of some paintwork from the rear mudguard, the Royal car was undamaged, and tho King gave the order to drive on immediately it was clear that the private car was little damaged. The collision was the result of the private driver mistaking a police signal. "The King seemed rather amused,” said Charles Gunter, an eye-witness. Their Majesties were returning from a charity matinee.
