Ernest Baker, of the Cronulla Surf-Life-Saving Club, had a terrifying experience when he was attacked by a large shark, while paddling a surfski. He was thrown into the water, but managed to regain the frail craft, and to escape from the shark by lying flat on the surf-ski, which was found to have deep indentations, made by the shark’s teeth.
