BALLOON BARRAGE SYSTEM [by CABLE PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] (Recd. Dec. 31, Noon). LONDON, December 30. The “Daily Telegraph’” says that balloon barrage squadrons, each of 400 men, are being raised early in 1938, to protect British cities against air raids. Each balloon will be manned by seven to nine men, including three Royal Air Force technicians, who will direct the others in lowering and raising the balloons, by winches and cables. _____ >• 'y.
