“WOOL” FROM FISH
GERMAN RECENT DISCOVERY.
BERLIN, December 15.
There is satisfaction in Germany as a result of the recent announcement that a new “wool fibre” Iras been made from fish albumen.
Fibres are already being manufactured from wood, but there will he increasing difficulty in obtaining sufficient wood, particularly as Russia and the Scandinavian countries are reducing exports.
Specimens of a new product, containing 80 per cent, of wood fibre and 20 per cent, of fish fibre, are pronounced by experts as being wearable, warm, and durable, and able to take wool dyes exceedingly well.
