CAUGHT BY WOMEN
, _ LONDON. November 11. bcntenco of six months’ imprisonment v.a.s passed at Westminster Police-court yesterday on Herbert Sin-g'-lton Brooks, 45, maintenance rn'anifgor at Peter Jones, Ltd., Sloan-square, S.M., living al, Wood End-way, Northoil, Middlesex, for stealing silk wearing apparel, value £36, belonging to his employers.
Mr. Glyn Powell, prosecuting, said that Brooks had been in charge of about 5(1 men and women. Ho bold keys to all Hie department. Ju about two years clothing worth £2OO had disappeared, and the management discussed with Brooks the best means of finding the thief. J A special watch was kept, said Mr. 1
Powell, and on November 5 two women detectives concealed in the silk department saw Brooks enter. Afterwards a uu in her of silk articles were found in bis pockets. Others were found at his house.
