(Received December 30, 11 a.m.) MADRID, December 29. Tho capture of Teruel Seminary followed the' storming;by Government ; troops. The defenders- were driven out of the Convent of .Santa Clara nearby. Both, the Seminary’, and Convent are reported to; be on fire.

LONDON, December 29.
The Gibraltar correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that the Spanish Government forces are attacking Andalusia as well as Teruel. They have captured several positions. The insurgents deny that there hpve been any Government successes in Andalusia, but it is significant that lorry loads of German infantry from Algeciras, in full fighting kit and equipped with the latest automatic rifles, have passed northwards from Gibraltar in the direction of Malaga. BRITISH SAVE LIVES. (Recd. December 3Q, 1 p.m.) LONDON, December 29. The Foreign Office discloses that Sir Henry Chilton and Mr Leche, British Minister Plenipotentiary to Barcelona, co-operating with the Red Cross, saved the lives of 400 prison-, ers, by arranging the exchange of 200 on each side, when Franco’s captives were sentenced to death, which, if carried out, would have meant reprisals by the Republicans, on a similar scale.
MAILS FOR FRANCE
HENDAYE, December 28.
Insurgent authorities banned the entry to France of all mails and parcels from Spain. . The reason given was that developments of the greatest importance are expected soon. The Republicans say the ban was due to trouble behind " the rebel lines, i The mail blockade particularly applies ’ to Navarre, where Caflist troops recently refused to go to the Aragon front.

Count of Covadonga, the former Crown Prince of Spain and Prince of Asturias, is seriously ill with a leg abscess, which is complicated by haemophilia. A blood transfusion will be made after an operation to-night.
