ROUMANIAN CABINET

WELL-BALANCED COALITION

[BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.]

(Recd. Dec. 30, 8 a.m.). BUCHAREST, December 29. The new Cabinet consists of eight members of the National Christian Party, three of the National Peasant Party, three non-Partyites, with General John Antonescu, at the Ministry of National Defence. King Carol described the Cabinet as entering a new road whose motto “Nationalism”, would be supported by the peasants, who were the backbone of the country. Premier Goga said the National Christian Party was Inevitably orientated toward the peasant population. It is thought in Vienna, that the new Roumanian Government is so balanced, there will be no attempt to carry out violent anti-Semitic, or extremist foreign policy. The latter is likely to remain in the hands of King Carol who will have power to conclude treaties and agreements with other countries.
