The Oslo correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says . that M. Jacobovitch, the Soviet Minister to Norway, who, when recalled recently, said that he had asked for an appointment in Moscow, has left Oslo for an unknown destination. According to one newspaper report, he has retired to a small hotel near Oslo. Madame Jacobovitch remains at tho Legation. His two grown-up sons are stated to be kept as hostages in Moscow. It is rumoured that M. Jacobovitch refuses to return to Moscow, as he fears that he will be sentenced to death for his association with M. I Leon Trotsky.
