ARRESTED FOR THEFT

DUNEDIN, December 10. When John Lee Aston, 43, was arrested for theft early in the month, the police discovered he was still wanted on a burglary charge committed at Dunedin in December, 1923. Aston appeared in Court, this morning, and admitted the fourteen-year-old charge. In view of the lapse of time, the burglary charge was reduced to theft.

The police stated that accused had been in England, Canada, North, and South. America, returning to New Zealand six months ago. Then he came to Dunedin, and lost all he had at the Forlmry trots. Accused stated he was married in England, where his wife was working tor the London County Council. On the old charge he was .sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, and to one month.on the other, the sentences to be concurrent.
