A Sydney cablegram reported the death of Mr. Joseph F. Munnings, 58, one of the foremost Sydney architects, and a native of New Zealand.

Mr. Thomas Cunningham died at the Inangahua Hospital on Wednesday night. Deceased was a native of Ireland and 78 years of age. In the early days of the Inangahua mining field, deceased worked in the Boatmans area. He was single and there are no relatives in New Zealand. The funeral took place to-day.

The death, in an Auckland private hospital, after a brief illness, was announced to-day, of Dr. Neil McDougall, 61. He was one of the best known practitioners in Auckland for many years, was radiologist at Auckland Hospital, and prominent in the St. John Ambulance Association, by whom lie was recently, honoured. He was keenly interested in Association football and bowling.—Press Assn.

The funeral of the late John Stevenson took place, this afternoon, at the Karoro Cemetery and was largely attended, the cortege including representatives of the West Coast Farmers’ Union, A. and P. Association and the Department of Agriculture. The services, at deceased’s late residence, Shakespeare Street, and at the graveside, were conducted hy Rev. H. R. Fell.

The death has occurred in the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Auckland, of Dr. Bernard Samuel Story, formerly of Hastings. Dr. Story, w’ho was 69 years of age, practised at first at Kaikoura, and then for a long period at. Hastings. After retiring temporarily he took up medical work again for a year at Karamea. Dr. Story, who was a widower, is survived by two sons and two daughters. —Press Assn.

Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, a pioneer of the New Zealand Health Camp movement, has been appointed Director of the Division of School Hygiene In succession to Dr. Ada Paterson. In 1915 Dr. Gunn joined the Expeditionary Forces as a medical officer, and in 1918 was medical inspector to the schools in Wanganui. Last year when Dr. Paterson was on sick leave, Dr. Gunn became Acting-Director of the School of Hygiene, Wellington.— Press Assn.

The appointment of the principal and staff of the new Wairarapa College, was announced by the Wairarapa Secondary Education Board last night, the principal being Mr G. G. Hancox, M.A., B.Sc., at present Principal of the Palmerston North Technical School. All of the permanent members of the teaching staffs of the Masterton Technical School and Wairarapa High School, the two schools being combined to form Wairarapa College, have been appointed to the staff of the new school. —Press Assn.
