W.F.A. MEETING. The weekly meeting of the Westland Football Association was held last evening, there being present, Messrs F. M. Smyth (President), J. Paton. C. Hodgson, W. Rafferty, and J. Welch (Secretary). It was decided to point out to Canterbury that, despite the short notice given making a match between Westland and. Canterbury impossible, thfere were several Westland players worthy of consideration for the combined team to play the touring English team; and to forward the names chosen by the selector to the Canterbury Association.
It was decided! to endeavour to arrange with the Railway Department for an excursion to Christchurch on the occasion of the English match, on June 9.
It was decided that the Westland Cup competition be of two rounds.
The following fixtures were arranged for June 9: — Senior: Technical v. Blackball, at Recreation Ground (Mr S. Hewison); Runanga v. Taylorville, at Runanga (Mr D. Barnes).
Third Grade: Technical C v. Runanga, at Runanga (Mr A. Winstanley); Taylorville v. Technical B, at Taylorville (Mr Cowan); Technical A, a bye.
