The gfeeiis Were playing faster than yesterday, though still.; slow for the majority of the players. A feature of the afternoon was a remarkable found' by the local'professional, A. Guy, his' figure of 68 being five below par. He secured two-eagles and five birdies, did four holes in two. His card read: Out: 2, 5,;3; 4; 6r3,<2 i 4, 3.—32. . Tn: 4/5; .6; 5,4, 2,';3,‘2, 5.—36—68. Though, her took three putts on two greens, hfe.was puttingvery well. His chii> ; ? shots were t first -class,and his driving was hardi and,Straight, ..and better than in. the morning. The following professionals, were playing steady golf:—J. D. Sfclntoah, C. C. Clements, J. Lambie, T. S; Galloway and A. Guy. If Gu|y can keep his direction he will be in the money. McIntosh was driving very well, but numerous putts of his were lipping the hole. Clements was' playing firstclass golf, but the greens were slower and less smooth than in the , South Island. Andy Shaw was unable to .'get direction with his irons to the green. Scores Championship, second 18 holes : Guy 68, T. S. Galloway, Allbon, Mclntosh 74, Mbss 77,' Burridge, Clements, A.
