The inauguration of the NelsonWest Coast ail’ service, to connect with the Cook Strait service, next week, will greatly affect- the time required for a letter from Greymouth to reach Wellington and other North Island towns, and in conjunction with the East Coast air service, which is made- Mftable to. the West Coast by means of the night goods . train to Christchurch, will provide business interests on the West Coast with improved communication with the mam centres. . According to, the Post' Office’s outward mail schedule, on Monday’s, mail posted' at Greymouth by 6.45 p.m. will arrive in Dunedin at 1.30 p.m., the next day, and in Wellington nt noon the next day. ’ On Tuesday, mail posted before 10.30 a.m. will arrive in Nelson at 12.30 p.m., ’ Blenheim. 4;5 p.m. and Wellington 2.15 jp.m.;_the:.same. day. Mail posted before 6.45 p.m. (via Christchurch) will arrive in Dunedin and Wellington as given above for Mondays. On Wednesdays, mail posted before 10.30 a.m. will arrive in Nelson, Blenheim and Wellington at the same times as on Tuesday, while, mail posted before 6.45 p.m. Will arrive in Dunedin at. 1.30 p.m. the next day, in Wellington at noon the next day, in Blenheim at 11.30 a.m. the next day, and in Nelson at 1.15 p.m. the next day. On Thursdays mail posted before 6.45 p.m. will arrive in Dunedin at 1.30 p.m. the next day and in Wellington at noon the next day. • On Fridays, the 10.30 a.m. schedule will be the same as given above for Wednesday .and mails posted before 7.45 p.m. wiil have the same schedule as for Wednesday also. On Saturdays, mails posted before 7.45 p.in., will arrive in; Dunedin at 1.30 p.nu the next day, in Wellington at noon, the next day, in Blenheim at 11.30 .a.m. the next, day, and in Nelson at 1.30 p.m. the next day. Full use of the air mails will vide tor ; the receipt of a reply at 9.30 a.m. oh Wednesday to a letter despatched to Wellington at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday. The inland air mail rate is 2d per ounce, including postage.
