CORONATION VISITORS
ACCOMMODATION COMMITTEE. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, February IS. The Government has- ordered the apno’ntment of a Coronation Committee. which is compiling a register of all available Coronation accommodation in London and Greater London. The- object, is to ensure a “square deal” for visitors, especially as al! hot'd accommodation is already hooked.
The committee lias no legal powers to prevent profiteering, hut its in-, spot tors will examine and value- the accommodation being’ ottered in p.i-i vato houses. Owners asking extortionato prices will bo struck oit the rogistetr. 'Die committee will also endeavour to prevent room prices from rising as the Coronation date approaches. The High Commissioners have been informed that th- Coronation Committee will appreciate it if all I tominion visitors requiring accommodation will write by air mail, or cable to them at it Southampton Row. The committee stresses the necessity for immediate application, though the utmost help will be given to Dominion visitors arriving in England without previously applying’.
