BLACKBALL NOTES

Miss Marion Neilson, Deaconess, who has been working in the districts around the Otira Line, was farewelled on Monday, evening on her departure for Dunedin after ten years’ service. The people of the Blackball Presbyterian Church presented her with a. travelling case and fountain pen. and pencil. Mr T. Waters, on behalf of the Blackball congregation, Miss Jean Anderson, on behalf of the Bible Class, and Rev. A. M. Richards all. spoke with high praise of Miss Neilson’s work and personality, and of the generosity of the Presbyterian Young Women of New Zealand who had financially, supported her work. Items 1 were contributed by Mrs Lowe and Misses Marie Day and Edna Waters. Mrs Sneddon was in charge of competitions and Mr P. James of games.
