MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET. The Management Committee of the West Coast Cricket Association met ' last evening, there being present: Messrs. H. S. Nightingale (in the 1 chair), L. Coffey, G. Haines, I. McBain, O. Morris, and D. Jarvis (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr. M. Marshall. A motion of condolence was passed with Mr. J. Mathews, a member of the Association, in the death of his brother. The South Canterbury Association wrote stating that the dates, February 27 and 28, suggested for the South Canterbury—West Coast match at Greymouth, were unsuitable, and further that the team could not play on a Sunday. It was suggested that March 12 (Friday) and March 13 (Saturday) might suit the Wett Coast Association. —It was decided to accept March 12 and 13, for the match, which will be the final of the Canterbury Minor Association’s competition, won last year by West Coast. The Buller Association wrote inviting a West Coast representative team to play Buller, at Westport, on February 27 (Saturday), for the Forrest Cup, held by West Coast. —It was decided to send a team to-Westport on the date suggested. The Ashburton Association’s proposal that an Ashburton team play West Coast, at Greymouth, on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday was accepted. It was resolved that the sole selector, Mr. W. Barlow, be advised of the forthcoming representative matches, and that he be asked to name a number of players for special representative practice. The selector is also to be asked to choose players for a Possibles v. Probables junior match, to take place on the second day of the South Canterbury mat,ch. It was decided to conduct an excursion train from Hokitika to Christchurch on Saturday March 20, returning on Sunday, March 21, for the second day of the England v. Canterbury —Otago cricket match. The Wingham Cup elimination competition was declared closed, with United the winners, and it was decided to commence the Feary Memorial Cup competition on Saturday next.
FIXTURES. Fixtuies for the coming week-end were approved as follow: — Feary Cup:—First Series: United v. Old Boys, at Rec., No. 1 (Messrs. Ryan and Paterson); Marist v. Runanga, at Runanga (Messrs. Kennedy and Brown); Cobden a bye. Saturday—Junior: United v. Marist, at Rec., No. 2; Technical 'v. Cobden, at Cobden; Runanga, a bye. Sunday—K.O.: Marist B. v. Kotuku, at Kotuku; Marist A. v. United, at Rec,, No. 1; Cobden v. Runanga, at Cobden. Cobden v. Runanga, on Sunday, at Cobden: Vaughan, Barlow, Knapp (2), Guy (2), Adams, Neill, Griffiths, Dewar, Gilbert. Cobden Juniors v. Tech., at Cobden, Saturday: Skeats (2), Kerr, Roache, Sutton, McLean, Guy, Blythe, Mettrick, Groufsky, Thomas, De Freatus.
