[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Mr J. Pender and Miss P. Pender, Taylorville, returned last evening, from a holiday spent in the North Island. George Filer, Wallsend, is a patient in the Grey Hospital, for a minor operat ion. Mrs Smith. Stillwater, was admitted to hospital on Monday. The present season is proving unsatisfactory for gardening, the continuous cold, wet weather having spoiled numerous crops in this district. A. meeting of the Brunner miners and Combined Schools Picnic was held, Mr T. Morgan presiding over a. full meeting.
