The police were called about 2.40 o’clock this morning but no evidence has been found of the origin of the injuries. Both husband and wife were X-rayed, but the result has not yet been made known. Dawson has three stitches on the forehead, and his wife has a cut on the side of her head. The house is within 50 yards of the hangars at the Southland Aero Club’s aerodrome. The doors were shut last night, but were not locked. A son and a daughter were sleeping in the house at the time,, but they heard nothing to arouse their suspicions. This is not surprising because a strong south-west wind was blowing at the time. No trace of anyone having entered the house was found, nor was there any sign of the weapon used.
