Mr. Greenaway, who has been club captain since the inception of the club, and Mrs. Greenaway (formerly Miss Winifred Bell) resigned, in view of their early departure on a holiday • visit to England, and were elected life members of the club. Mr. T. Duffy was subsequently elected club captain, and Miss Clarice Brooks was elected as a member of the committee, replacing Mrs. Greenaway. During the evening, films of the Upper Rakaia snowfields, Upper Wanganui, Whitehorn’s and Harman Passes and the Three-Pass trip were shown by Mr. W. Heinz, and Mr Greenaway gave a talk on avalanche craft. Supper was served.

YACHTING Unfavourable conditions were experienced yesterday for the w’eekly race conducted on the Grey River by the Greymouth Regatta Chib. Only seven yachts competed for the W. Roberts trophies, over two laps of the new five-buoy course. The scratch yacht, Mystic, actually completed the course in the fastest time, but was disqualified for rounding a buoy from the wrong side. The detailed result was as follow: — Seafox (Bellamy and F. Carlyle), handicap 7 mins., time 70 mins., and Rascal (Blacktopp and Doug. Smith), 9 mins—72 mins., equal, 1; Vagabond (Dean, N. Messenger,'Dixon)' 7 mins. —7l mins. 30 secs., 3; Awatea (Brennan pnd McGirr), 8 mins—73 mins., 4. Also competed: Mystic (Brown, Scott, Willis), mlns, (disqualified);
