PLUNKET SOCIETY. At the monthly meeting of the Greymouth branch of the Plunket Society, held in the rooms, there were present: Mesdames Barrett (chair), Clark, Webber, Marks, Trott, Baty, Fletcher, Burt, Smith, McKay, Ramage, Wilde, Harris, Miss Anderson, and the secretary (Mrs Phillips). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames O’Brien, Carter, Leahy, and Wallis. The accounts were passed for payment. Arrangements were made for the annual fete and Rose Day, on Friday next. The nurses’ reports,.as follow, were received': —Town: Visits to homes 184; office 288; babies 237; older children 75; total town 600. Country: Visits to homes 207; visits to office, adults 191; babies 177; older children 34. Total —country 402. Total new cases 32. BAND OF HOPE. At the third meeting of the newlyorganised Greymouth Band of Hope, lieid in Church of Christ Hall last evening, the speaker* was Mr. C. Deans, who gave an illustrated talk on “Reasons or Excuses.” Pledge cards were handed out to those who had signed. Items were given by Jim Logan, June Spiers, Patricia Logan, and Mr Bergin (Hawaiian guitar). Games were played.
