WEDDINGS
CUNNIFFE—McGOWAN The wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, this morning, of Ann Marion, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McGowan, Waitaha, and Joseph Walter, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Cunniffe, Greymouth. Rev. Father J. Long performed the ceremony, and also celebrated Nuptial Mass. Miss Moira McSherry presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr. J. Rae, wore a model frock of lido blue moss mousse, cut on fitting lines. The frock was trimmed with white fagotting, and the neckline was finished with a spray of white marguerites. She wore a white bangkok straw hat, trimmed with blue velvet ribbon and white flowers, shoes of blue embossed velvet, and carried a sheaf of pink and white tinted lilies. The bride was attended by her sister, Mina, who wore a blue floral frock of suede crepe, the neckline being finished -with white pleating and a posy of pink and blue roses. She wore a pink picture hat, shoes to tone, and carried a bouquet of pink stock and tulips. Mr. John Wylie, Christchurch, cousin of the bride, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Cunniffe left by the express for Auckland, the bride travelling in a navy suit, over which was worn a brown musquash fur coat. She wore a navy hat, with eye-veil, and accessories to tone. RYAN—BORCK. The wedding was solemnised at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, this morning, of Annie, second daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Borck, of Ross, to Elliott. Ambrose, eldest son of Mr and Mrs James Ryan, of Rotomanu. Rev. Father Kelly officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a smart ngvy tailored costume, relieved with cream, with hat and shoes to tone, and she carried a bouquet of freesias and’ maidenhair fern.
She was attended by Miss Pearl Ryan, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid. She wore a black tailored costu,me, relieved with pink, and hat and shoes to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink tulips and maidenhair fern. Mr Jack Borck, brother of the bride, was best man. ' The reception was held at Harker’s, where Mrs Borck received the guests, wearing a navy frock and hat to tone. Mrs Ryan wore a frock of navy crepe-de-chine, relieved with gold, and hat and shoes to tone.
Mr and Mrs E. A. Ryan left later for Christchurch. They will reside in Ross.
