MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

At the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby League, last evening, there were present: Messrs J. Stokes, B. .Rathbun, B. Ramsay, W. Moore (J.A.8.), and R. J. Harrington (Secretary). In the absence of the Chairman (Mr A. H. McKane), from whom an apology was received, Mr Stokes was voted to the chair. The Wellington League wrote in reference to the proposed match with the West Coast, at Wellington, suggesting August 29 as a suitable date.

It was decided to hold the matter over in the meantime. The Canterbury League advised that the schoolboys’ representative match, for the Norman Cox Cup. would be played at Greymouth on August 29, and that the Canterbury team would comprise IS players and a manager.

It was decided that the match for the Thacker Shield, between Hornby (Christchurch), and the West Coast finalists, should be played on September 6.

On the application of the Pirate Club, T. F. McKenzie was transferred from Inangahua Junction to Pirates, subject to the approval of the Inangahua Sub-Centre.' Also on the application of the Pirate Club, J. McQuillan, E. Gallop, N. Messenger, and Williams were reclassified from junior to third grade, subject to the usual provisions. Marist seniors were declared winners of the Knock-out Cup, and of the local section of the Thacker Shield competition. On the recommendation of the Junior Advisory Board Marist sixth graders were declared winners of the sixth grade (Schoolboys) competition. FIXTURES. The following fixtures were arranged for Sunday:— . Thacker Shield Final: Marist seniors v. Waratahs (Reefton), at Wingham Park, 2.30 p.m. (J. Mathews). Bradshaw Cup: Blackball v. Ngahcro, at Blackball, at 2.30 p.m. (L. Kinsella). Pirates, Brunner and Runanga byes. Junior (one round competition): Barrytown v. Kumara, at Kumara, at 2.30 p.m. (B. Becker): Blackball v. Runanga at Dunollie, at 2.30 p.m. (G. Pope). Other lower grade fixtures will be published later in the week. Sixth Grade (Saturday): Possibles v. Probables (J. Tallentyre).
