. . LONDON, August 11. Shipping circles discount reports of immediate developments in the Pacific shipping position. The P. and O. naturally are fully behind Mr. Beatty’s efforts to expedite a solution of the problem, but emphasise the matter is at a standstill, pending a report of the Imperial Shipping Committee, which is not likely to be presented till after the holidays. The situation so far as the Biitish Government is concerned, is unchanged. ’llie action will largely depend on what the committee reports.
OUDJA (French Morocco), Aug. 11. A Correctional Court sentenced six Italian airmen, who made a forced landing on July 30, en route to Spanish Morocco, to a month’s imprisonment, and a fine of £2/16/8 apiece. The First Offenders’ Act precluded carrying out the penalties, but both aeroplanes were confiscated.
