Rollinson, J. Kyle and W. Scott (agting-secretary). A letter from the Secretary of the sC(&pn Shield districts’ primary school tournament, Nelson, advising that at the annual meeting of delegates a resolution would be moved by the Marlborough delegate to have an age limit of 14 years on September 1, imposed for future tournaments, was referred to tho schools’ delegate, Mr. Rollinson. Mr. Rollinson said that at present there .was a weight limit of 8 stone 7 pounds (on the day of the tournament). The New Zealand Union advised that the application of J. McQuillan, for reinstatement io the code had been grap.te.dAn application from the Greymouth Public Workp Department team for the use of a set of jerseys for the annual match with, the Hokitika Public Service, was granted.' R. J. Furness, whose application for a transfer from the Star Club to Blaketqwn was refused at the last meeting of the committee, made a further application for the transfer. He stated that bis reason for applying for the transfer was because an injured knee made him physically unfit to play, in the forwards, and he could not get a game at full-back for Stars, whereas he could for Blaketown. Mr. (luy said he did not think the case should he re-opened. Mr. Kyle said that seeing that there was such a small attendance, and that there was a full attendance last week, it would hardly be right to reconsider the application. Mr. Mclntosh said he did not see any reason why the case should be reopened. Mr. Scott said he did not know from experience, but it had been told to him that the Union had, in previous years, transferred players from one club to another, at this time of the season. He had no personal feeling in the matter, but he did not think it was right that a player should be standing on the line.

Mr. Mclntosh said that the Union might have transferred players in previous years, at this time of the season, but he felt sure that transfers had liot been granted when the compete tiofts were as far advanced as they were at present. He added that he did not know what had happened that Furpgss wanted a transfer at this time of the season, but he was satisfied that it was not on account of his physical fitness.

On the motion of Messrs. Guy and Kyle, it was decided that no action be taken.
