PORT KEMBLA DISPUTE. SYDNEY, August 10.
The threatened strike at the Port Kembla iron and steel works after the dismissal of two unionists has been averted through a compulsory conference of the parties. The dispute has been referred to the State Industrial Commission, which will adjudicate on it. MILITARY CAMPS. , SYDNEY, August 11. Mr. Bruxner'said that the State Government was co-operating with the Federal Government, in encouraging members of the public service to attend military camps. The State not only allowed public servants leave, without interference with annual holidays, to attend military camps, but granted them full pay, which would be in addition to thebr military pay.
