A Geneva cablegram stated that Baron Lugard, British member of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations since 1922, had resigned through ill-health.

Advice has been received by Mrs L. Hales, Preston Road, of the death, last month, of her mother, Mrs Jane Michael, at Edgwater, Florida, U.S.A. She was aged 86, and had spent the whole of her life "In Florida.

The death occurred on Saturday of Sister Agatha Snow, of the Westport Convent. Deceased had been in falling health for some considerable time, but until March of this year she was able to continue her duties. Sister Agatha was born at Napier, but spent most of her early life in Wellington, where she was educated by the Sisters of Mercy. On March 4, 1895, she entered the Westport Convent and on March 19, IS9S, was professed. Since that time she spent her years either at Reefton or at Westport.

The death occurred at the Grey Hospital yesterday morning, of William George Mosley, a native of New-castle-on-Tyne, aged 71 years. Deceased, who had been in the Dominion for 25 years, worked as a carpenter at Roa, for a number of years, and was later employed as a traveller by the Morrish Boot Warehouse, Greymouth. He had been in failing health for the past ten years, and had been in the Old People’s Home for four years. His wife predeceased him before he came to New Zealand. He is survived by two sons, resident in England, and one brother, John (Preston Road). The funeral took place, privately, at Karoro Cemetery, this afternoon.

The death occurred at the Reefton Hospital, this morning, of Stephen Loughnan, aged 47 years. Deceased was a native of the Twelve Mile, and had been mining in the Reefton district for many years. He served in the Great War. He entered the hospital only on' Saturday last, suffering from nfiner’s phthisis. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. C. Chandler (Reefton), Mrs. J. Horan (Cobden), Miss Kate Loughnan (Wellington), and two brothers, John (South Westland), and Edward (Reefton). The funeral will take place at Reefton Wednesday, following) Requiem Mass at 9 a.m.
