OUTH WESTLAND V. GREYMOUTH

For the first time in the history of 2ugby football on the West Coast a South Westland representative team will maka its appearance at Rugby Park, to-morrow', in opposition to the Creymouth representatives. The south, ern representatives include many fine players. Their captain, S. Hendry, is a former Canterbury and West Coast five-eighth. His clever play will be much in evidence in to-morrow’s game. Wyatt, their centre threequarter, has represented Auckland. Their half-back, Vincent, is a promising brother of the erstwhile Canterbury and West Coast half-back, W. Vincent. The forwards include Gilmour, Cox, Thiele and Berry, a quartet whose play the selectors will watch with a careful eye, with a view to inclusion in the West Coast touring team. The visitors will arrive tonight at 11 o’clock, and will stay at Revington’s Hotel, leaving on their return journey on Sunday’morning.

After to-morrow’s match the selectors will announce the names of twenty-five players to go into training for the forthcoming representative fixtures, which include challenges for the Seddon and Ranfurly Shields, and a return match with Canterbury.

The principal curtain-raiser at the Park will be provided by Blaketown and United juniors.
