WEDDING

PAYNE—HOLLEY. The marriage of Sydney William, eldest son of Mr. Payne. Christchurch and the late Mrs. Payne, to Rubina Ivy, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Holley, Hampden St., Hokitika, was celebrated by the Rev. Allan Carr, on Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hokitika. Mr. Johnstone was organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock ot white mellozed ripple satin, made on slim fitting lines, with a cowl’ neck, which was held in place by a diamante clasp. The tight fitting sleeves tapered to points over the hands. Her veil was embroidered tulle, held in place by a chaplet or orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet ot double azalias, roses, white heather and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her cousin. Miss Joan • Waslev’of Greymouth, as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of pink ripple pique, made on slim fitting lines, with godets of same material let into the skirt; her head band was of pink and silver. She also wore shoes and stockings to match and carried a bouquet of pink roses and pink heather. Mr. Cyril Payne was best man. At the reception held later, the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock oi black celanese relieved with fawn trimmings with hat to match; her posy was of autumn tinted flowers. The bridegroom’s' aunt from Christchurch was also present wearing a brown tailored costume with hat to match. She carried a posy of pink roses and carnations. Air. and Mrs. Payne left on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a tailored costume of fawn flecked tweed with hat and accessories to tone. _____
