OLYMPIC GAMES
CORRESPONDENCE CENSORED. [by CABLE —PBESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] (Received July 23, Noon). LONDON, July 22. The correspondent of the Associated Press at Berlin says that though a number of German regulations will be relaxed for the Olympic period, the leniency does not extend to a scrutiny of letters. Much of the Australians’ mails are arriving marked, “Opened by the Government Superintendent.”
FRENCH FINANCE
PARIS, July 22.
As the result of frantic negotiations necessitated by more-important business in the Chamber of Deputies causing the shelving of the Bill apportioning £13,333 for the transport expenses of the Olympic team to the Sports Federation, the Under-Secre-tary of Physical Education has obtained one-third of the amount from the Foreign Ministry. Sportsmen will contribute the balance. The team will leave for Berlin on June 29.
