FIJIAN TEAM DEFEATED.

GORE, July 22.
The touring Fiji women’s hockey team were defeated at Gore to-day by Eastern Southland by 7 goals to nil, in a one-sided display. The home side were never troubled. They displayed superior combination, having the game in hand throughout. In a curtain-raiser, the Eastern B team defeated Southland A team by three goals to nil. SATURDAY’S MATCHES. Mawhcra v. Wesley, Recreation Ground, at 1.30 p.m. (Messrs. Butler and Knapp). Pacific v. Cobden, Recreation Ground at 2.45 p.m. (Messrs. Newton and Perrin ).
