SYDNEY, July 22.
The English Rugby League team sailed for Auckland by the Monterey to-day. The Judiciary Committee of the New South Wales Rugby League has announced th© suspension of Stehr (Australia) and Arkwright (England), who were sent off the field on Saturday.
Stehr is ordered to stand down . for three competition matches. Arkwright is suspended until July 31, which means that he will not be available for the first two matches in New Zealand. LEAGUE TEAM’S TRAVEL. [to the editor.] Sir, —I see that the West Coast League Centre intend sending a 3rd grade rcpiesentative team to Canterbury to play that province on August 1. They are sending the team over on the excursion train. That means that these boys will have to travel all night Friday night, and 1 am sure they will get neither sleep nor rest on the train and be expected to play good football on Saturday. Now, Sir, does this give the boys a chance. They are sent over there to uphold the football traditions of the West Coast, and how can they do this when, even if they are fit they are expected to travel all night, without sleep or rest. Do give the boys a chance. — Yours etc., LEAGUE FAN.
