A (i-year-old Shoreham boy whose life had been despaired of is now on th.'.- w;ty to recovery in London Hospital. His life was saved through Urecthig the victim of an air crash.
Tito boy is Joseph Paterson, son of Mr. Laurence Paterson, of Lord Beachrt ad, Shoreham, a gardener at Southlands. Hospital. He was run over by a lorry and taken to the hosital with multiple injuries, including a fractured skull and Injuries to the brain. Three days after the child had entered the hospital, Hugh Graham Aitchason, of Bexhill, the pilot of an which crashed near Lancing College, was carried to the next bed suffering with similar head injuries. During periods of consciousness they struck up a friendship. Then the aviator had a relapse. A brain specialist hurried from the London Hospital, where Mr. Aitchason’s brother is a medical student. When he recovered consciousness Mr Aitchason, [who. knew that his little friend’s life ' was despaired of. asked if anything more could be done for him. The result was that, when Air. Aitcllason was taken by ambulance to London Hospital, the child Paterson accompanied him. Tire treatment he received there saved his life.
