FAREWELL GIFTS

A farewell was accorded the Goodwill Mission, to-day, by a large assembly at Mulinuu, the seat of the native Government, and the burial place of the Samoan Kings. The ceremony was arranged by representatives of Malo. The Malo is a section of the community which' down the years remained loyal to the Government and kept aloof from all Mau activities. The speakers complimented the delegates from New Zealand on the efforts to restore harmony among all people in Samoa, and expressed the hope that their labours would not be in vain. Members of the party and their wives were presented with beautifullymade mats and other articles, and later entertained at a feast. Natives from all parts of the territory are pouring into Apia to welcome Mr. Nelson, who is arriving by the Maui Pomare to-morrow afternoon. At Vaimoso. the Mau headquarters, el: . ~ parations are being made for tiie reception of the exiled leader. Hundreds of pigs are being killed for a big feast.
