MATAKI DREDGE
AUCKLAND. July 20
The Mataki return for the week end ed July 10 was 45 ounces for 132 hours work, and 9.300 yards dredged.
MATAKI JUNCTION RETURN For the two weeks ended July 2, the Mataki Junction dredge (Murchison), which is controlled by Australian interests, won 162 J ounces for 242 hours from .38,000 cubic yards, value £1,202. The previous return was 345 ounces for the four weeks ending June 18, from 10,780 yards in 480 hours. WAIPAPA BEACH. DUNEDIN, July 20. The Wai pa pa Beach return for the week ended July 11 was 11 ounces. PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE Statement for June: Estates of a value of £510,417 were reported and accepted for administration by the Public Trustee during the month of June, 1936. The total value - of the estates under administration by the Public Trustee on the 31st March, 1936, was £60,660,310 and the new business for the quarter ended 30th June, 1936, was £1,454,861 compared with £1,180,838 for the corresponding period last year. Grants of administration made by the Court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 133 for the month. During the month 380 now wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were deposited for safe custody by living testators and 318 existing wills were revised to provide for changes desired by testators. The total number of wills now held in the Public Trust Office is 86,509.
