WAIHOU SHOOTING
EARLY ARREST EXPECTED
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
' WHANGAREI, July 20. The police investigations into the Waihou Valley murder now seem to be developing toward a crisis. Ihe police are very reticent. They decline to release any information concerning their movements. It is understood that a police car, containing Detective-Sergeant V alsli. two constables, and two detectives from Wellington, left Auckland early yesterday morning for the Valley, it also is believed that Inspector J. Cummings of Palmerston North, if not already in the party, will follow late). The indications are that, within the next few davs, something definite will result from a hunt that has been carried on with unremitting zeal for seven weeks.
